1. The String or Paper Method
Cut the strip: Cut a thin strip of paper (or a piece of string) roughly 3 to 4 inches long.
Wrap your finger: Wrap the strip around the base of the finger you plan to wear the ring on. Ensure it is snug, but not digging into your skin.
Test the knuckle: Slide the loop over your knuckle to ensure it can still pass through comfortably.
Mark the overlap: Use a fine-tip pen to draw a line where the paper overlaps itself to complete the circle.
Measure: Lay the paper flat and measure the distance from the starting end to the mark in millimeters (mm).
Find your size: Compare your millimeter measurement to a standard Brilliant Earth Ring Size Chart to determine your size.
2. The Existing Ring Method
(If you have a ring that fits)
If you already own a ring that fits the exact finger perfectly, you can measure it directly:
Place the ring flat on a table.
Use a ruler to measure the inside diameter (straight across the widest point of the inside of the ring) in millimeters.
Match this diameter to a ring sizing chart.
Essential Pro-Tips for Accuracy
Mind your temperature & time: Fingers shrink when you are cold and swell when you are hot or at the end of the day. Always measure in the late afternoon or evening when your fingers are at their largest.
Measure multiple times: Do not just measure once. Measure your finger 3 to 4 times to ensure consistency.
Consider band width: Wide bands (like thick wedding bands) generally fit tighter than thin, delicate bands. You may need to size up by half a size for thicker bands
